Zero-Knowledge
Fane never sees your emails. All scanning, sorting, and AI summarization happens in your browser's RAM. We do not have a backend database to store your data.
No Data Persistence
Your metadata is cleared the moment you close the tab. We do not use cookies or local storage to cache your inbox contents.
1. Data We Access
When you connect your Google Account, we request temporary access to your Gmail and Drive metadata. This access is used exclusively to:
- Identify large emails and files for potential deletion.
- Extract attachments for local zipping/archiving.
- Summarize email content using local WebGPU AI.
2. Google Limited Use Disclosure
Fane's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
3. AI Processing
AI summarization is performed using **WebLLM** running on your local machine via WebGPU. Your email content is never sent to an LLM provider (like OpenAI or Anthropic). The processing is 100% offline once the model is cached.
4. Third-Party Services
We use Stripe for payment processing. Stripe may collect your email and payment information as governed by their own privacy policy. We also use Vercel Analytics to monitor app performance, which collects anonymous telemetry data.
